Jinnah International aArport

Jinnah Int'l Airport has always been the largest aviation facility - both international & domestic - in Pakistan. It is the primary hub of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).From the 1960s to 1980s Karachi was once a much busier airport. It was an online station of many major airlines of the world including British Airways, Lufthansa, Aeroflot, Swiss Air, KLM, Air France, etc. However, due to the emergence of Dubai's airport in the 1990s, acting as the "gateway between Europe and Asia", several airlines discontinued their service to the airport. The airport states that they handle almost 6 Mio passengers per year.ARRIVAL:Upon arrival we gladly went to the "Foreigners" counter. As we had been the only non-Pakistanis on our flight we were through in less than 10 min. Your passport & visa are checked and a small camera takes your picture. (As the whole affair looked rather serious, we tried not to laugh at the female officer's amusin...

Sajjad Restaurant

The restaurant has a large outdoor area, and alfresco dining is in its heart. The restaurant is decorated in Pakistani village chic. Elevated sitting platforms (takhat) covered in ethnic cloth, surrounds the table. You can sit cross legged on the "takhat" or laze on a huge sausage like pillow, while enjoying the breeze. This restaurant serves Pakistani food. I would recommend ordering, karhai and barbecue. For the faint hearted order the "Afghani" selections. They tend to be mildly spiced. They also do steaks and Chinese food, albeit attenuated to the Pakistani palate--which isn't at all bad. Just don't be surprised if they don't taste like the one's you are used to! The place is packed on weekends and I recommend getting there early (around 8pm) if you want a good table. Great place for kids to run around. Separate sitting arrangements for Gents and Families. Chicken Tikka, Karhai, Tandoori Paratha for dessert: Kulfi Falooda!I just wish...

Makran Coastal Highway

There are some amazing sphinx like natural rock formations off Makran Coastal Highway; a treat to watch along with a pleasurable long drive along the crystal clear coastal line. A rare sight, indeed, in Pakistan. This includes a naturally carved statute “Princess of Hope” as named by Angelina Julie and other mind-boggling formations. We were caught in a sheer surprise on our way to Ormara when watched these formations and kept on debating that whether they are natural or man-made.This is an easy day trip from Karachi and can be clubbed with Malir Khand beach and Mud Volcanoes.Click this for some out-of-the-world views. The newest trend in enjoying Karachi is a Mad Max style dash to Gawadar from Karachi (800 km+). You only stop to relieve yourself or eat. Takes you approx. 8 hours to reach Gawadar, spend one day in Gawadar, and than dash back to Karachi.A convey of cars comprising of family members, friends, and other acquaintances, take trips to Gawadar from Karachi. Beach Luxury Hotel

There's no beach (just some mud with smelly sewerage), luxury would be an overstatement but at $100 / £50 per night with breakfast overall it's good value. Expect to pay £4 / $8 from the airport if the driver doesn't try to rip you off (like all my drivers tried to). 30 years ago it would have been a grand place. Trouble is that not much has been updated since. ... more [+] Cleanliness is not good by European standards. If you can accept all that, rooms are very large with water view over a palm lined pleasant garden with pool. (Rubbish dumps and grime in the other direction if you get a corner room. Aircon, fan, fridge and shower all worked well and the bed was clean and comfortable. The TV appeared to have lots of channels but had such poor reception was unwatchable - and theer was no remote control. Free WiFi didn't work very well, but was much better than no WiFi. I didn't use the gym. There's not much else to do on site or nearby. Staff were ...

Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 in Pakistan

Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 touchscreen phone press the infinite button and enjoy it all. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is the first Android device of the manufacturer and the operating system itself has been causing quite a stir in the cell phone world in the last year. The handset comes with downright monstrous hardware features and as of today, there is simply no other cell phone based on the same platform to rival the X10 and we hardly need to say anything other than 4inch screen, 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 8.1megapixel camera although Timescape and Mediascape add a truly unique touch to the interface personalization.the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a well made cell phone with great build quality. The plastics its made from appears proper and robust. The chrome framing is an enjoyable counterpoint and lends color to the overall design. Those of you with keen interest in the exact impression they make will be happy to find out that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will ...
